Step 1 – Effect of pressure (at constant TT). As gas pressure is raised, more molecules strike and stick to the surface, so x/mx/m increases. At low pressure xm∝p\frac{x}{m}\propto p; at high pressure the surface becomes saturated and x/mx/m becomes almost independent of pressure (xm∝p0\frac{x}{m}\propto p^{0}).
