Growth refers to an increase in the economy's capacity to produce goods and services, measured conventionally by the growth rate of GDP/national income — essentially, making the overall economic 'pie' bigger.
Equity refers to ensuring that this bigger pie is shared fairly — that economic growth reduces (rather than widens) inequalities of income and wealth, reduces poverty, and extends the benefits of development (employment, better standards of living, access to basic goods and services) to all sections of society, including the weaker and economically disadvantaged sections, not just to a privileged few.
