Forfeiture cancels the ₹8/share called up so far (incl. ₹2 premium); on reissue at ₹7 (₹8 paid-up), the ₹1/share discount is charged to Share Forfeiture A/c, and the remaining ₹2,000 is transferred to Capital Reserve.

Working out the per-share amounts: Face value ₹10 + Premium ₹2 = ₹12 total. Allotment (₹5, including premium of ₹2) means its face-value component is ₹3; the First & Final Call of ₹2 (face value) has not yet been made. So Application must account for ₹10 − ₹3 − ₹2 = ₹5 (face value only). Called-up so far (Application + Allotment) = ₹5 + ₹5 = ₹10/share, of which ₹8 is face value (capital) and ₹2 is premium.

(1) Forfeiture of 500 shares (for non-payment of ₹5 Allotment, incl. premium; Call of ₹2 not yet made, so it isn't part of the called-up amount being cancelled):

Share Capital A/c Dr. 4,000 (500 x 8 face value called-up)
Securities Premium Reserve A/c Dr. 1,000 (500 x 2, premium called but unpaid)
    To Share Allotment A/c 2,500 (500 x 5, unpaid)
    To Share Forfeiture A/c 2,500 (500 x 5, Application money received & retained)

(2) Reissue of the 500 forfeited shares at ₹7 each, ₹8 paid-up (i.e. a discount of ₹1/share on reissue, well within the ₹5/share already forfeited):

Bank A/c Dr. 3,500 (500 x 7)
Share Forfeiture A/c Dr. 500 (500 x 1, discount on reissue) …
