Bond angle = angle between two bonding orbitals at the central atom; dipole moment = charge × separation distance (a vector).

(i) Bond angle: the angle between the orbitals containing the bonding electron pairs around the central atom of a molecule, i.e. the angle subtended between two adjacent bonds at that atom (e.g. the H–O–H bond angle in water is about 104.5°).
