Entropy = measure of disorder; unit J K−1 mol−1; spontaneous ⇒ ΔS(universe) > 0.

Entropy (S): a thermodynamic state function that quantifies the degree of randomness or disorder of the particles (atoms/molecules) of a system. The more disordered/random the arrangement, the higher the entropy.
