t-RNA is the clover-leaf-shaped adapter RNA that brings specific amino acids to the ribosome and matches its anticodon to the mRNA codon during translation.

Transfer RNA (t-RNA) is the smallest of the RNAs and acts as the adapter molecule postulated by Francis Crick. In two dimensions it looks like a clover-leaf with an anticodon loop, an amino-acid acceptor end and other arms; in three dimensions it is L-shaped. Each t-RNA has an anticodon that base-pairs with the complementary codon on mRNA, and at its 3' end (the -CCA acceptor arm) it carries the specific amino acid coded by that codon.
