The formula Co(NH3)5(CO3)Cl has two ionization isomers, formed by swapping which anion (CO3^2- or Cl-) sits inside the coordination sphere and which is the counter ion.

Ionization isomers have the same overall molecular formula but differ in which ion is bonded to the metal (inside the coordination sphere) and which is a free counter ion outside it - they ionise in water to give different sets of ions.

Isomer 1: the carbonate ion (CO3^2-, a bidentate ligand here) and all 5 NH3 occupy the coordination sphere around Co3+, with Cl- as the counter ion:

Structure: [Co(NH3)5(CO3)]Cl

Charge check: Co(+3) + 5NH3(0) + CO3(-2) = +1 complex ion, balanced by one Cl- outside.

IUPAC name: pentaamminecarbonatocobalt(III) chloride.

This isomer gives a white precipitate with AgNO3 (test for free Cl- ion) but not with BaCl2 (no free CO3^2-).
