All three charges are equidistant from the centroid (r = 10 cm); summing kq/r for each charge (or using the total charge directly) gives V = −9×10⁴ V.

For an equilateral triangle of side a, the distance from the centroid to each vertex (the circumradius) is:

r = a/√3

Here a = 10√3 cm, so:

r = 10√3/√3 cm = 10 cm = 0.10 m

Since potential is a SCALAR, the net potential at the centroid due to all three charges is simply the algebraic sum of the individual potentials, and since all three charges are the SAME distance r from the centroid, we can factor out 1/r:

V = (1/4πε_0) × (q_1 + q_2 + q_3)/r

Given q_1 = +1 μC, q_2 = +3 μC, q_3 = −5 μC:
