Fibrinogen enables clotting, globulins support defence, neutrophils phagocytose invaders, and lymphocytes carry out the body's immune responses.

a. Fibrinogen. This plasma protein is required for the clotting (coagulation) of blood — it is the inactive precursor that is converted into the fibrin threads that form a clot.

b. Globulin. Globulins are chiefly part of the body's defence mechanisms among the plasma proteins.
