This chapter closes with a set of practice questions that bring together everything you have learnt about yoga as a preventive measure for lifestyle diseases. Working through them is the best way to prepare for the CBSE Class 12 Physical Education examination.
The exercises fall into a few types:
- Tick the correct option — short multiple-choice questions set at the end of each disease section (obesity, diabetes, bronchial asthma, hypertension, and back pain & arthritis) to check your recall of the asanas, their poses and the diseases they help.
- Answer the following questions — short-answer questions on drawing and labelling an asana, explaining a breathing pattern, or listing the benefits of a particular posture.
- Answer in 150–200 words — longer questions asking you to discuss the asanas helpful for a given disease, or to describe the procedure and contraindications of a specific asana or pranayama in detail.
- Complete the table — fill in the name of the asanas and their benefits for obesity, hypertension, diabetes and asthma.
- Case Study questions — apply your knowledge to real situations, such as identifying the lifestyle disease a given set of asanas is meant for, or advising a student with asthma on which asanas and pranayama to practise. …
