(i) Cash A/c Dr. ₹10,000 / To Bank Loan A/c ₹10,000. (ii) Cash A/c Dr. ₹5,000 / To Commission Received A/c ₹5,000.

This journalising question tests the double-entry rules from the Tamil Nadu HSC Class-11 Accountancy syllabus. For each transaction we identify the two accounts affected and apply the rules of debit and credit.

(i) Borrowed loan from bank ₹10,000

  • Cash comes into the business → Cash A/c is a real account → debit what comes in.
  • A liability (loan payable) is created → Bank Loan A/c is a personal (representative) account → credit the giver.

(ii) Received commission ₹5,000 by cash

  • Cash comes in → Cash A/c debited (debit what comes in).
  • Commission is an income → Commission Received A/c is a nominal account → credit all incomes and gains.
