Uses of Silk
Silk's combination of strength, sheen and biodegradability gives it a surprisingly wide range of uses beyond clothing. It is woven into silk garments on its own or blended with other natural or synthetic fibres to make fabrics such as Teri-Silk and Cot-Silk, and it is commonly dyed and printed — usually using Eri silk or spun silk — to produce ornamented fabrics.
