Given: reserve ratio r=10%=0.10r = 10\% = 0.10; initial deposit D=₹5,000D = ₹5{,}000.

Step 1 — (b) Credit multiplier.

1r=10.10=10\frac{1}{r} = \frac{1}{0.10} = 10

Step 2 — Total deposits created.

Total Deposits=D×1r=5,000×10=₹50,000\text{Total Deposits} = D \times \frac{1}{r} = 5{,}000 \times 10 = ₹50{,}000

Step 3 — (a) Total credit (new loans) created. This is total deposits minus the initial deposit:
