Artificial Sweetening Agents
Artificial sweetening agents are synthetic compounds engineered to produce a sweet taste sensation while carrying little to no actual nutritional (caloric) value -- distinct from the sugar substituents of 15.2.4, which are still metabolised as sugars, just without needing insulin. The examples given are saccharin, aspartame, sucralose and alitame.
