Depreciation is accumulated in an Accumulated (Provision for) Depreciation A/c (Furniture A/c kept at cost). Furniture I = ₹4,50,000 (01.10.2014) is sold on 01.07.2016 for ₹2,25,000, so depreciation to the date of sale is charged, its accumulated depreciation is removed, and the shortfall of book value over sale proceeds is a Loss on sale (debited to P&L). Furniture II = ₹3,00,000 (01.03.2015) continues. Both accounts are shown first normally, then again with a Furniture Disposal A/c.
