Realisation expenses are the dissolution-time costs of selling assets and settling liabilities, debited to the Realisation Account.

In the PSEB Class-12 Accountancy syllabus, at the dissolution of a partnership firm a Realisation Account is opened. Expenses such as brokerage on sale of assets, legal and court fees, advertising for sale, and commission paid to agents are incurred in the process of converting assets into cash and discharging liabilities. These are called realisation expenses.
