Financial incentives include pay/allowances, productivity bonuses, profit-sharing/co-partnership and retirement/perquisite benefits.

Financial (monetary) incentives are rewards measurable in money, used to motivate employees. Four such incentives:

  1. Pay and allowances — A regular salary or wage, together with annual increments and dearness allowance, is the basic financial incentive that satisfies employees' economic needs and motivates them to perform.

  2. Productivity-linked wage/bonus incentives — Extra payments linked to output or performance, such as production bonuses or incentive wages, reward employees who produce more and encourage higher productivity.

  3. Profit-sharing and co-partnership — Giving employees a share in the company's profits, or offering them shares of the company (co-partnership/stock options), makes them feel like owners and motivates them to work harder for the firm's success.
