Part (a): DMU — marginal utility falls as more units are consumed (schedule MU 20→0). Part (b): law of demand — quantity demanded rises as price falls (schedule 10→50 units as price ₹5→₹1).

Part (a)

Utility is the want-satisfying power of a good; marginal utility (MU) is the addition to total utility from consuming one more unit. The Law of Diminishing Marginal Utility states that, as a consumer consumes successive units of a good (other things constant), MU derived from each extra unit continuously falls, because the intensity of want weakens as more is consumed and satiation approaches.
