Q.Describe the procedure of SAI Khelo India Fitness Test.
The SAI Khelo India Fitness Test battery runs a sequence of short, standardised sub-tests — a different battery for Class 1-3 versus Class 4-12 — each with its own equipment, procedure and scoring rule.
The overall procedure is to administer the full relevant battery, one sub-test after another, recording each score on a sheet (and later entering it into the Khelo India Fitness Assessment App / School Dashboard).
For Class 4-12 (Age 9-18+): 1) measure height and weight to compute BMI = W/(H×H); 2) the Partial Curl-Up — lie with knees flexed, curl the trunk up repeatedly, counting completions in 30 seconds; 3) Push-Ups/Modified Push-Ups — repeat the push-up motion until exhaustion, counting correct reps; 4) the Sit and Reach Test — sit against the Sit and Reach box, reach forward as far as possible and hold, recording the distance; 5) the 600m Run/Walk — cover 600m as fast as possible, recording the time; 6) the 50m Dash — sprint 50m from a dead/standing start, recording the time.
For Class 1-3 (Age 5-8): the same BMI procedure, plus the Plate Tapping Test (tap alternately between two discs 60cm apart for 25 full cycles, timed) and the Flamingo Balance Test (balance on one leg, counting the number of times balance is lost in 60 seconds).
The SAI Khelo India test is administered as a short battery of standardised sub-tests appropriate to the student's class — BMI plus either (Class 1-3) Plate Tapping and Flamingo Balance, or (Class 4-12) Partial Curl-Up, Push-Ups, Sit and Reach, 600m Run/Walk and 50m Dash — each scored by its own fixed procedure.
