Add the cheque issued but not presented (₹6,500); deduct interest (₹2,000), insurance premium (₹200), the cheque deposited but not cleared (₹6,000) and the amount wrongly debited (₹500). Overdraft as per cash book = ₹17,800.
Concept
With the passbook overdraft as the starting point, each item is treated in reverse of a cash-book start. Interest, insurance premium and a wrong debit have all enlarged the passbook overdraft (but not the cash book), so moving to the cash book they are deducted; a cheque deposited but not yet cleared has raised the cash-book balance (reduced its overdraft), so it too is deducted. A cheque issued but not presented has enlarged the cash-book overdraft, so it is added.
