Planning the model, whichever system you choose:
- Re-read that system's section of this chapter and list every structure it names — this becomes your labelling checklist.
- Choose simple, available materials: cardboard cut-outs or clay for bones; coloured wool/yarn for blood vessels; balloons for lungs/heart chambers; wire for the ribcage.
- Build and label each part clearly, in the group.
Example — Respiratory system: a balloon pair (lungs) connected by a tube (trachea) splitting into two smaller tubes (bronchi), with a flat sheet below (diaphragm) that you can pull to show how it flattens on inhaling.
Example — Circulatory system: a model heart (four labelled chambers — 2 atria, 2 ventricles) with red and blue strings/pipes showing the pulmonary and systemic circuits. …
