Derivation gives Kp = Kc(RT)^Δn, connecting the pressure-based and concentration-based equilibrium constants for gas-phase reactions.

Consider a general gaseous reaction: aA(g) + bB(g) is in equilibrium with cC(g) + dD(g).

In terms of partial pressures: Kp = (P_C)^c (P_D)^d divided by (P_A)^a (P_B)^b.

In terms of molar concentrations: Kc = [C]^c[D]^d divided by [A]^a[B]^b.

For each gaseous species, from the ideal gas equation PV = nRT, we get P = (n/V)RT = [concentration] x RT (since n/V is molar concentration). So for each species X: P_X = [X]RT.
