Pascal's law says pressure applied to a confined fluid is transmitted equally in all directions; it underlies hydraulic lifts and hydraulic brakes.

Statement: If pressure is applied at any point of a fluid enclosed in a container, that increase in pressure is transmitted undiminished to every other point of the fluid and to the walls of the container, acting equally in all directions.

Application 1 - Hydraulic lift: A hydraulic lift has two pistons of different cross-sectional areas A1 (small) and A2 (large) connected by a fluid-filled chamber. A small force F1 applied on the small piston creates a pressure P = F1/A1, which by Pascal's law is transmitted undiminished to the large piston, producing a much larger output force F2 = PA2 = F1(A2/A1). Since A2 is much greater than A1, a small input force can lift a very heavy load (e.g. a car) - this is the principle behind hydraulic car lifts and hydraulic jacks.
