NNP(FC) = NNP(MP) − Net Indirect Taxes = NNP(MP) − (Indirect Taxes − Subsidies).

The difference between a 'market price' measure and a 'factor cost' measure of an aggregate is Net Indirect Taxes (NIT):

  • Indirect taxes (like GST, excise) raise the market price above the factor cost.
  • Subsidies lower the market price below the factor cost.
  • Therefore Net Indirect Taxes = Indirect Taxes − Subsidies.

To convert Net National Product at Market Price (NNP_MP) into Net National Product at Factor Cost (NNP_FC), we remove these net indirect taxes:
