For a zero order reaction, rate = k[R]^0 = k, so the rate constant has the same units as the rate of reaction: mol L^-1 s^-1 (or mol L^-1 time^-1).

For a reaction of order n, the general unit of the rate constant is: (mol L^-1)^(1-n) time^-1

For a zero order reaction, n = 0:

Unit of k = (mol L^-1)^(1-0) time^-1 = (mol L^-1)^1 time^-1 = mol L^-1 s^-1
