Kohlrausch's law of independent migration of ions lets us combine known λ° values of CH3COOH, HCl and NaCl to get λ°(CH3COONa).

By Kohlrausch's law, λ°m of an electrolyte can be built up from/decomposed into ionic contributions, so we can combine known strong-electrolyte values algebraically:

λ°(CH3COONa) = λ°(CH3COOH) + λ°(NaCl) − λ°(HCl)

This works because:

λ°(CH3COOH) = λ°(CH3COO⁻) + λ°(H⁺)

λ°(NaCl) = λ°(Na⁺) + λ°(Cl⁻)

λ°(HCl) = λ°(H⁺) + λ°(Cl⁻)
