Range

The range is the simplest measure of dispersion — it tells you how spread out the data is by looking at the extremes. You calculate it as the difference between the largest and smallest values in the dataset: Range=Maximum−Minimum\text{Range} = \text{Maximum} - \text{Minimum}.
