Starting from an overdraft (debit balance) of Rs. 2,500 per bank statement, add Rs. 10,000 (deposits not credited) and Rs. 2,000 (payment omitted in cash book) to reach a favourable cash book balance of Rs. 9,500.

A debit balance as per the bank statement means an overdraft — from the customer's point of view it is an unfavourable (negative) balance of Rs. 2,500.
