Non-corporate enterprises are unincorporated forms of business — sole proprietorship, HUF business and partnership — that are not separate legal entities from their owners.

In the Tamil Nadu HSC Commerce syllabus, forms of business organisation are classified into two broad groups:

  • Corporate enterprises — formed and registered under a special law and possessing a separate legal identity from their owners, such as joint stock companies and cooperative societies.
