Entrepot trade is buying goods from one foreign country and selling them to a second foreign country, using the trader's own country only as a transit or re-export point.

Foreign trade is of three kinds — import, export and entrepot. In entrepot (re-export) trade, goods are first imported into a country not to be used or consumed there, but to be exported again to some other country. Sometimes the goods are lightly processed, graded, repacked or reassembled before being sent out.
