MR is the derivative of TR with respect to Q. Differentiating TR = 50Q − 4Q² gives MR = 50 − 8Q, and at Q = 3 the marginal revenue is 26.

Given: TR = 50Q − 4Q²

Step 1 — Marginal Revenue is the rate of change of Total Revenue:

MR = d(TR)/dQ

Step 2 — Differentiate TR with respect to Q:

d(50Q)/dQ = 50

d(4Q²)/dQ = 8Q

Therefore MR = 50 − 8Q

Step 3 — Substitute Q = 3:

MR = 50 − 8(3)

MR = 50 − 24

MR = 26
