This is the chapter-end evaluation set, structured in five parts that build in depth. Part I (Multiple Choice Questions) contains fifteen objective questions, several drawn directly from AIPMT and IIT-JEE question banks, spanning every topic of the unit: work as a dot product, energy ratios in free fall, work-energy theorem applications, power delivered to a jet of water, explosive fragmentation, the sign of potential-energy change, the minimum speed for a vertical loop, properties of conservative forces, the momentum-kinetic-energy relation, power scaling with wind speed, elastic-collision velocity exchange, potential-energy-versus-force graphs, and the force constant of a cut spring.
Part II (Short Answer Questions) and Part III (Long Answer Questions) ask for definitions, derivations and comparisons in increasing depth -- from simply defining terms like the coefficient of restitution and power, through explaining the graphical difference between constant- and variable-force work, to fully deriving the one-dimensional elastic-collision formulas and discussing their special cases.
Part IV (Numerical Problems) applies the unit's formulas to five concrete calculations: work done in lifting a load, an oblique (two-dimensional) collision with a given coefficient of restitution, the minimum speed needed on a rigid rod versus a string in vertical circular motion, a two-dimensional collision between unknown masses, and a classic ballistic-pendulum problem. …
