PHBV is a biodegradable copolymer used in eco-friendly packaging and medical applications.

PHBV stands for poly-β-hydroxybutyrate-co-β-hydroxyvalerate. It is a copolymer obtained by copolymerising 3-hydroxybutanoic acid and 3-hydroxypentanoic (3-hydroxyvaleric) acid units, linked by ester linkages.
