Individual differences means tailoring the programme to each athlete because no two are alike; it matters because one identical load cannot suit everyone.

Meaning. The principle of individual differences recognises that no two athletes are alike — they differ in age, sex, body type, ability, current fitness, temperament and rate of recovery.
