Sports Injuries

Sports participation and regular exercise can be interrupted whenever an athlete picks up an injury — sometimes ending active participation for a while, sometimes leaving a painful experience that lingers. A sports injury is the physical damage caused to tissue, bone or any other organ of the body while in action, which may force a player to withdraw from participation or cause pain while performing a movement.

Injuries happen for many reasons: an incorrect movement, hitting or colliding with equipment, aggressive sporting actions such as diving and sliding, overtraining, or a plain lack of conditioning. Because these injuries arise from different causes, they are not all of the same type — each needs a different remedy and a specific understanding, so that it can be treated well and, ideally, prevented altogether. Understanding sports injuries is a dependable source of questions and answers in CBSE Class 12 Physical Education board papers.
