Centre (3, −1) satisfies 3h+4k = 5 and is equidistant from the two points; radius² = 5.

Let the centre be C(h, k). It lies on 3x + 4y = 5, so

(1) 3h + 4k = 5.

Step 1: C is equidistant from (1, −2) and (4, −3):

(h−1)² + (k+2)² = (h−4)² + (k+3)².

Expand: h² − 2h + 1 + k² + 4k + 4 = h² − 8h + 16 + k² + 6k + 9.

Simplify: −2h + 4k + 5 = −8h + 6k + 25 ⇒ 6h − 2k − 20 = 0 ⇒ 3h − k = 10.

So (2) k = 3h − 10.
