Q.Define circulatory system
The circulatory system is the heart-powered network of blood vessels that moves oxygen, nutrients and waste between the body's cells and the lungs.
The chapter defines it as the system "responsible for the transportation of the gases i.e., oxygenated blood from heart to the body cells and deoxygenated blood back to the heart, and then deoxygenated blood from heart to lungs and oxygenated blood back to the heart with the help of arteries and veins." It consists of the heart (the pump), blood vessels (arteries, veins and capillaries, which carry the blood), and blood itself (the fluid doing the actual transporting), and runs across three circuits — pulmonary, systemic and coronary — to keep every part of the body supplied with oxygen and nutrients.
The circulatory system is the heart, blood vessels and blood working together to transport oxygenated and deoxygenated blood between the heart, the body's cells, and the lungs.
