Concept
When a question asks for ledger (T-account) presentation instead of journal entries, the same facts are shown from the account's own point of view: the Debentures Account is credited when debentures are issued and debited when they are redeemed, carrying forward a balance c/d / b/d each year; the Debenture Interest Account collects the year's interest charge and closes it off to the Statement of Profit and Loss; and the Discount on Issue of Debentures Account, opened at issue, is written off (here, all at once in the first year) against the Statement of Profit and Loss.
