Law of Demand: quantity demanded and price move in opposite directions, other things constant.

The Law of Demand is captured in the downward-sloping demand curve: on a diagram with quantity on the X-axis and price on the Y-axis, the demand curve DD slopes downward from left to right. This inverse relationship holds because of: (i) the substitution effect — as a good becomes cheaper relative to substitutes, consumers buy more of it and less of the substitutes; (ii) the income effect — a fall in price effectively raises the consumer's real purchasing power, allowing them to buy more; and (iii) the law of diminishing marginal utility — a consumer is willing to buy additional units only if the price falls, since each additional unit yields lower marginal utility.
