Turn every school object into a connected "thing": cloud e-textbooks on tablets, Internet-connected smart boards, server-evaluated online tests, door sensors for occupancy/attendance, GPS bus trackers with parent alerts, and RFID/Bluetooth wearables for automatic attendance — all feeding one school dashboard.

The idea. An IoT-enabled smart school applies the standard IoT pattern — sensor → network → data → action — to everyday school objects. Each item below names the device, its connectivity, and the automatic action it enables.

a) e-Textbooks

Replace printed books with digital textbooks on tablets/e-readers, hosted on the school's cloud. Content stays updated centrally; multimedia (video, 3D models, quizzes) is embedded; the platform tracks each student's reading progress and syncs bookmarks/notes across devices. Students' doubts and highlights can flow back to the teacher's dashboard.

b) Smart boards

Interactive, Internet-connected boards in every classroom pull lesson content from the cloud, let teachers annotate over it, record the class, and push the day's notes automatically to students' devices. An absent student can attend the same class live or view the recording.

c) Online tests

Tests are administered on connected devices; answers are auto-evaluated on the server with instant scores. Analytics identify each student's weak topics, question-wise time taken, and class-level trends; results reach parents automatically. Randomised question sets reduce copying.

d) Wi-Fi sensors on classroom doors

Door sensors detect every entry/exit and stream it to the school server: they log room occupancy and per-period attendance, detect unauthorised entry after hours (security alert), and can drive automation — lights/fans/ACs switch off when a room empties, saving energy.

e) Sensors in buses to monitor location

Each bus carries a GPS tracker (plus optionally speed and door sensors) streaming live location to a school/parent app. Parents see the bus approaching in real time; the school gets alerts on route deviation, overspeeding or breakdown; boarding/deboarding of each child can be confirmed.
