a. Four types of physical disabilities (section 4.2.2 lists nine lettered subtypes; any four are acceptable): Mobility/Locomotor Disability; Amputation (loss of a limb through trauma, illness or surgery); Cerebral Palsy (non-progressive brain-damage condition affecting movement/balance/posture); Dwarfism (adult height 4'10"/147cm or less); Muscular Dystrophy (hereditary progressive muscle-weakening disease); Visual Impairment; Hearing Impairment; Speech and language disability; Leprosy cured.

b. Down Syndrome: a genetic disorder, also known as trisomy 21, caused by the presence of all or part of a third copy of chromosome 21. It is usually associated with physical growth delays, mild-to-moderate intellectual disability, and characteristic facial features (flat facial features, small head/ears, short neck, bulging tongue, upward-slanting eyes, poor muscle tone).

APE (Adapted Physical Education): the art and science of developing, implementing and monitoring a carefully designed PE programme for a learner with a disability, based on comprehensive assessment, to give lifelong skills in leisure, recreation and sport, modified in instruction, resources, space and environment to be as appropriate for that learner as ordinary PE is for a learner without a disability. …
