Procedure: Begin Matsyasana lying in Savasana (Corpse Pose), with arms and legs stretched out and relaxed, taking a few deep breaths. Place the palms under the hips with palms facing the ground, bringing the elbows close to the waist. Cross the legs so the feet cross at the middle and the thighs/knees rest flat on the floor. Breathe in and lift the chest so the head is also lifted and the crown of the head touches the floor -- the body's weight should rest on the elbows, never on the head itself, and the shoulder blades are lightly pressed as the chest lifts. Hold only as long as comfortable, breathing normally, then release by gently raising the head first, lowering the chest and head to the floor, and returning the hands to the sides of the body, finishing by relaxing again in Savasana. …
