Kranz anatomy is the wreath-like arrangement of large, chloroplast-filled bundle-sheath cells around the vascular bundles in the leaves of C4 plants.

The word Kranz means 'wreath'. In many C4 plants (e.g. maize, sugarcane, sorghum) the leaves show a distinctive anatomy:
