Streamline flow is smooth and orderly (low velocity); turbulent flow is chaotic with eddies (high velocity, above a critical speed).

Streamline (or laminar) flow: In this type of flow, every particle of the fluid passing a given point follows exactly the same path (streamline) as the particle before it, and the velocity at any fixed point remains constant in time. Layers of fluid slide smoothly over one another without mixing. This occurs when the flow velocity is below a certain critical velocity.
