Free vibration is self-sustained motion at the body's own natural frequency; forced vibration is driven, at the external force's frequency, and becomes resonance if that frequency matches the natural one.

Free vibration: When a body (e.g., a simple pendulum, a stretched string, a tuning fork) is displaced from its equilibrium position once and then released, and allowed to oscillate under its own restoring force with no further external force applied, it oscillates at a fixed frequency called its natural frequency, which depends only on the physical properties of the system (mass, stiffness/length, etc.), not on how it was started. In practice such vibrations gradually die out due to damping (friction, air resistance) unless the system is ideal.
