A front-end form is built from standard controls, each with a defined job. Four common ones:

  1. Label — displays a piece of fixed text, such as a caption beside an input box (for example 'Customer Name'). The user cannot type into it; it only guides the user.
  2. Text box (text field) — a box in which the user types a single line of data, such as a name or a number. It is the most common way of taking input.
  3. Button — a control the user clicks to make something happen, such as 'Save', 'Search' or 'Delete'. Clicking it triggers an event handler that runs the required code.
