Step 2 — Plot and join the points. Mark the five points — (Year 1, 20), (Year 2, 22), (Year 3, 21), (Year 4, 25), (Year 5, 30) — and join successive points with straight-line segments.
Step 3 — Read the shape.
- From Year 1 to Year 2, price rises by Rs. 2 (a mildly positive slope segment).
- From Year 2 to Year 3, price falls slightly, by Rs. 1 (a negative slope segment) — the one exception to the overall trend.
- From Year 3 to Year 4, price rises by Rs. 4.
- From Year 4 to Year 5, price rises by Rs. 5 — the steepest, most positive segment on the whole graph. …
