Law of Chemical Equilibrium: at a fixed temperature, [products]^(coeff) / [reactants]^(coeff) equals a constant, Kc, at equilibrium.

Also called the Law of Mass Action (as refined by Guldberg and Waage), the Law of Chemical Equilibrium states that for a reversible reaction at a given temperature, once equilibrium is reached, the ratio of the product of the equilibrium concentrations (or activities) of the products, each raised to a power equal to its stoichiometric coefficient in the balanced equation, to the product of the equilibrium concentrations of the reactants, similarly raised, is a constant -- the equilibrium constant, Kc.

For a general reversible reaction:

aA + bB <=> cC + dD

Kc = ( [C]^c [D]^d ) / ( [A]^a [B]^b ) …
