Stream line flow is smooth and orderly (velocity at each point steady in time); turbulent flow is chaotic and irregular, occurring at high flow speeds.

Stream Line Flow (Laminar Flow):

In stream line flow, the fluid moves in a steady and orderly manner such that every particle of the fluid passing through a particular point follows exactly the same path (called a streamline) as the particles that passed through that point earlier. The velocity of the fluid at any fixed point in space remains constant in magnitude and direction over time (though it can differ from point to point). Streamlines never cross one another. This type of flow occurs when the flow speed is below a certain critical velocity.
