Every translational quantity/equation has a direct rotational counterpart -- mass becomes moment of inertia, force becomes torque, and so on, with the same equation structure.

Translational motion and rotational motion are structurally identical (analogous) because the mathematics of Newton's laws carries over directly, with linear quantities replaced by their angular counterparts:

Translational motionRotational motion
Displacement, sAngular displacement, theta
Velocity, v = ds/dtAngular velocity, omega = d(theta)/dt
Acceleration, a = dv/dtAngular acceleration, alpha = d(omega)/dt
Mass, mMoment of inertia, I
Force, F = maTorque, tau = I alpha
Linear momentum, p = mvAngular momentum, L = I omega
Kinetic energy = (1/2) m v^2Kinetic energy = (1/2) I omega^2
Work, W = F sWork, W = tau theta
Power, P = F vPower, P = tau omega
